Transciències
#transciencies Resources for transdisciplinary education in sciences
With Transciències, we aim to complement and update the teaching of natural sciences and computer science from a transversal and transdisciplinary perspective in the final stages of secondary education, making known the reality of current scientific research beyond disciplinary barriers. Through concrete examples, we want to show how today a university education in mathematics, computer science or physics allows for professional opportunities related to any of the great contemporary challenges, not only technological but also social, ecological or public health challenges.
🪢 The complexity paradigm
The complexity science paradigm allows for a shift of focus at various levels: from the details of the components to the structure of the system they make up; from the exact prediction of the evolution of a process to the typological classification of behaviours; from the peculiar aspects to the common traits between seemingly distant phenomena. In this way, the transdisciplinary approach to understanding complex phenomena emerges naturally.
🎯 Objectives
The Transciències project aims to be a tool for promoting critical thinking in the learning of sciences, cooperation, and teamwork among professionals in secondary and higher education, encouraging the opening of academia to the entire educational community.
Furthermore, Transciències aims to contribute to improving equal opportunities in the field of higher education, and therefore in the job market, helping to reduce the gender gap in scientific and technological careers.
